The plants in BuccoVie

• rtemisia (Artemisia abrotanum): A purifying and cleansing plant, traditionally used for oral hygiene. Artemisia acts as a protective shield for the mouth and throat.
• Acacia (Acacia Senegal): Acts primarily through its emollient and film-forming effect to soothe throat irritation and protect the oral mucous membranes.
• Liquorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra): As a soothing plant, liquorice calms irritation of the mouth and throat tissues and also possesses powerful purifying properties.

Oral hygiene
The mouth is naturally colonised by a large bacterial flora. No fewer than twenty billion bacteria, belonging to over six hundred different species, live there in balance: they maintain good oral health and act as a barrier against unwanted agents.

However, if this oral ecosystem is altered, the flora can become imbalanced and promote the appearance of oral problems: bad breath, dental plaque (a true bacterial nest), gum inflammation, canker sores, oral thrush.

Oral hygiene is the fundamental preventive measure to avoid the development of unwanted bacteria, preserve a healthy ecosystem within the oral cavity, and limit acid production.

Daily good habits
Brush your teeth carefully every day, preferably with a soft-bristled toothbrush, if possible after each meal and before bedtime, as the low amount of saliva at night promotes plaque formation.
